Jillian Tideswell has a strong background working with vulnerable populations such as children with exceptionalities, and youth in educational settings over the last seven years. She volunteered at Ontario Shores throughout her undergrad in the Forensic Assessment Unit. Collectively, these experiences have allowed her to engage with a wide variety of physical and mental health concerns and equipped her with the use of a trauma-informed lens.
Ms. Tideswell is a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. She retains a Bachelor of Arts in General Psychology from Trent University and has completed her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University.
Ms. Tideswell approaches her clients with compassion and unconditional acceptance. Her goal as a therapist is to provide a non-judgmental space for her clients to process their concerns and develop strategies for coping effectively day-to-day. She takes a strengths-based, eclectic approach in working with clients using evidence-based methods grounded in the prioritization of emotions and emotional regulation. Ms. Tideswell believes that therapy is meant to be collaborative and holistic. She aims to produce treatment plans alongside her clients with their individual needs and values at the forefront. Ms. Tideswell believes that all people can benefit from therapy to live as authentically as possible.
Outside of work, She enjoys journaling, practicing yoga, and hiking with her dog. She loves to spend time with her family and friends, and travels whenever she can.
