Tonya Kelly, Co-Director, MSW, RSW
Registered Social Worker
Tonya Kelly is a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. Ms. Kelly has worked with both inpatients and outpatients in a variety of settings, including the Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences, community mental health agencies, and private practice settings. Ms. Kelly holds a Master of Social Work Degree from Wilfred Laurier University, in addition to a Bachelor of Science (Honours) Degree in Psychology. She has also completed a Human Services Counsellor Diploma from George Brown College.
Ms. Kelly understands that life can throw you some curveballs. You might be overwhelmed by stress, anxiety, or depression. You might be feeling "stuck" in a particular situation, or relationship, and you aren't sure how to get back on track. Maybe you've experienced a traumatic event at work or in your personal life. If any of these situations sound familiar, you are not alone. Ms. Kelly strives to provide a safe and non-judgmental space where you can feel heard and validated. Her goal is to assist adults, couples, and families, in transforming pain into empowerment so that you can live the life you deserve. Ms. Kelly has been trained in a variety of therapy modalities, including Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Mindfulness-based relaxation techniques, and more recently Eye Movement Desensitization and Retraining (EMDR) as well as somatic therapy techniques.
When Ms. Kelly is not at work, she enjoys walking her dog and planning her next vacation.
