Luminita Baia, MSW, RSW
Registered Social Worker
Luminita Baia is a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. She holds two Masters degrees in Psychology and Social Work from the West University of Timisoara, Romania, in addition to a dual Bachelors degree in Psychology and Social Work from the University of Bucharest, Romania.
Ms. Baia has been providing both therapy and assessment in the public sector and private practice for several years. She has also extensive experience in psychological assessments used in a legal context, and has provided expert testimony in court proceedings. Ms. Baia has worked in a variety of settings during her career and training, including hospitals, corrections, community agencies, schools, child and youth services, and private practice settings. Additionally, Ms. Baia has been engaged in the supervision of graduate-level students and has appeared as a guest presenter at conferences and as part of community education and outreach programs.
Ms. Baia works with children, adolescents, and adults. She also has experience working with individuals from various cultural backgrounds as well as from the LGBTQ communities. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing tennis or swimming, and really trying to learn and play the guitar.
Ms. Baia believes that our past shapes the person we are today. Our traumatic experiences have shaped the way we think, act, and interact with people close to us. However, with the right guidance and support, we can improve, heal, and learn to love life and cherish moments of happiness!
