Cynda Ashton is a Registered Social Worker in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. She has completed a Bachelor of Psychology at the University of British Columbia as well as a Master of Social Work and a Master of Public Health at the University of Toronto. ​

Ms. Ashton has experience working across the lifespan with individuals, couples and families in various hospital and community settings. She uses a variety of therapeutic approaches in her work including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Family-Based Treatment (FBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT). ​

Ms. Ashton strives to create a supportive environment where clients feel comfortable and able to share. She uses a non-judgemental, anti-oppressive, and trauma-informed approach and aims to empower clients to work towards healing and making changes in their lives at their own pace.


Ms. Ashton has expertise in a variety of areas, including (but not limited to):

  • Life and family transitions

  • Relationship challenges

  • Couple and family work

  • Eating disorders

  • Sexual orientation and gender identity

  • Parent coaching, teenagers and young adults

Monday 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Saturday 11:00 am - 2:00 pm
