Alyssa Nolan (she/her) is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with considerable experience providing psychological assessment, treatment, and supportive services to children and adolescents (aged 5-19) over the last six years. In the last four years, she has broadened her scope by working with young adults (aged 19-30). Alyssa has a diploma in Child and Youth Care from St. Lawrence College, a Bachelor of Art in Psychology from Carleton University, and a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University.
Alyssa uses client-centred, strength-based, and humanistic approaches and has training and experience in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) modalities. She uses these evidence-based approaches to support individuals with a diverse range of mental health concerns, including mood and anxiety disorders, PTSD and other trauma-related concerns, emotional dysregulation, and anger/aggression. Alyssa also provides parenting support, family conflict management, learning strategies, stress management, and support during difficult life changes.
When she isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with her partner and kids, being active and playing sports, doing DIY projects and having karaoke car rides.
